Sektion 12, the large fan group supporting FC Copenhagen, has initiated a large protest against the McDonalds restaurant which is to be constructed within the Parken stadium.
FC Copenhagen is planning to build a McDonalds resturant in the Parken stadium this summer between the B and C stands.
This has not gone down well with "Sektion 12", the fan group based in the B stand and responsible for the home team's songs and atmosphere during the game.?
"Sekton 12" writes on their Instagram profile that PS&E (the mother company behind FC Copenhagen) values ??an extra penny more than a strong fan community.
"The place (the area between the B and C stands, ed.) has been a permanent place before and after the match where fans could warm up, meet, share moments, and round off the evening with a last beer."
"Now it is being replaced by a global fast food chain with no connection to Copenhagen."
"The decision says it all: Profit is more important than fans. Instead of investing in the stadium experience and match days, the management is once again choosing quick wins", says "Sektion 12" and calls for a boycott of McDonalds in the Parken stadium.?
As of the end of 2025, there are 121 McDonald's restaurants in Denmark. McDonalds sell approx. 80 million burgers a year in Denmark.
